Location:
Walking and biking to downtown or the Malls is no probem or take the bus or drive. It's a 2-minute walk to a Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts and the largest Mall in the area is a 2-minute drive or a 12-minute walk, Yet you feel like you're in the country. The park is well hidden and protected from the road and traffic noise.
Close to several beaches (Wallis Sands in Newcastle/Rye, NH, Fort Foster in Kittery, ME, Long and Short Sands in York, ME. And the Ogunquit Beach is 30 minutes into Maine. Practice your French here, as this beach draws a lot of Canadians in the summer.
Fall is also a great time to visit (September and October) and if you like the cold and enjoy skiing and winter activities, Portsmouth is close to well-known skiing haunts in NH and ME.
